Layla's Announcement

Here is Layla's announcement that Josh made. Layla is such a sweetie and the greatest baby. She brings such a sweet spirit in our home. It has only been a month and we can't picture our life without her.
Isn't her Dad so talented?

Motorcycle Papa and Prama visit

We appreciate Grandpa and Grandma Perriton's visit. We had such an enjoyable time. Our kids are blessed to have such wonderful Grandparents. I loved hearing Grandpa's stories of New Zealand and visiting with Grandma. They are amazing people and role models. Thanks for making the trip. We love you both!

Ginger Bread House

The finish product was after Liam said, "I crash a house!". He had so much fun and did most of it himself (in case you couldn't tell).

First Snow

It finally snowed! Liam loves to play in the "Snows". We plan on taking him skiing next year!!!

Don't Laugh

Yes, I know it is awful. I thought I would save a trip to the groomer. BAD IDEA! The clippers I had didn't work and I cut her hair all the way off. Not to mention I nicked poor Daisy several times so I decided to just stop. Which is why she has long hair on her legs and head. Liam walked in and saw her for the first time and just looked at her long and hard then said, "Where Daisy go?". I don't feel to bad because for some weird reason Daisy has been running around as happy as can be. I guess she would rather be bald then matted and dirty. I promise to not be so lazy and cheap next time.

A Night To... FORGET

We had the opportunity to go to Temple Square last Saturday. The thought was great. I love the Temple and know how beautiful it is especially when it is Christmas with all the beautiful lights. I am not a fan however of waiting in traffic way longer then necessary, way to many people that you can't push a stroller through the crowd, and perhaps husband and wife being on each other nerves the whole time (it was the traffic that started it all). We still love each other no worries! It was funny and we were joking about it all. We got in the car to go home and Liam kept saying, "I want to go home" he will tell you now however who is on top of temple, "Angel Moroni, up up up". Making it all worth it. My sister was able to come meet us as well. I think they might of had a worse experience. We went to leave at 8 pm and she didn't get home until 10:30 and ran out of formula for my favorite set of twins (she lives a half hour away). Josh did however admit he could never live in the city that night. I knew he wasn't really from Denver :) I love you honey but next year lets go on a weekday.

Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I know these pictures are a bit late. We spent the day prior to Thanksgiving with my Step-Sisters and kids. It was so much fun to have all the cousins together. We missed you Taryn! On Thanksgiving April and her family came down to spend the day with us. My Mom and Step Dad prepared a wonderful meal! I am not kidding when I say my Mom is the greatest cook. Everything is from scratch. Thanks Mom for doing all the work. I really appreciate all you did to help.

Life With Two

It is amazing how much you can love your children. I have enjoyed having two even though it is more than double the work. How does that work? I was expecting double, not four times the work. It has been great. Honestly things have gone so much more smoothly than adjusting to one. I think it is because we aren't so nervous and it is easier to meet thier needs. Liam has done so well adjusting to his new baby sister. Not once has he done something mean. His new line is (in a very high voice), "Baby Sista is so TUTE Mommy. I'm so tute too Mommy!" I agree with both of the observations from my almost 2 year old. He is so sweet to her and has been really into giving her hugs, kisses, and bones (a high five with your knuckles). Layla is such a sweetheart and has been so alert lately. She loves her baths and even fell asleep in it yesterday. I had to post these pictures because there is nothing more tender then a sleeping child. I love being a Mom.
I can't post without bragging about what a wonderful father Josh is. Liam and him are truly best buds and I call him the baby whisperer because he can help calm and put Layla to sleep in minutes. He is so sweet with her and has such a way with babies. Liam and his Daddy have so much fun together. They both light up when they are together and all you hear is laughing. I love it! I am so blessed.

Liam's week with, "Baby Sista"

Liam has LOVED having, "Prama" (Grandma) here. I am pretty sure he thinks all the visitors are here for him. He isn't to thrilled when Daddy or Prama hold baby sister and is quick to tell them where to set her down so he can have all the attention. He has had some very tender moments with Layla. The other day she was crying in her carseat and he walked over and was talking to her very soft while rocking her. It is so fun to see them together.
The other morning Liam put on Grandpa's size 15 shoe and said, "Go outside Prama!" They were a little difficult for him to walk in.
It will be so much fun to watch Liam and Layla grow up together. We know Liam will be a great big brother!

Layla's First Week at Home

Layla has been such a delight in our home. She is doing very well and is such a sweet passive baby. She is very easy to sooth and please. It is amazing the joy these sweet children bring into your home. We feel so blessed to have her here safe and sound. Things have been running so smoothly. Having two is double the love that is for sure.

Layla Dee Perriton

We feel so blessed to announce the birth of our new daughter Layla Dee Perriton. She was born November 15, 2008 at 7:19am. She was 8 pounds 6 oz and 20 inches long (10 days early). I started labor around 2:30pm and it really started to pick up around 1am. The contractions were never consistent as far as breaks in-between but they were for sure getting harder and longer as time went on. At 5am we went into the hospital and luckily they decided to keep me even though my contractions weren't close together. Thank goodness because she was born less then two hours later in under 3 minutes. Very different from Liam. It is amazing the sweet spirit these children bring into your life. We love her as though she has always been here. She has been a super good baby. We would love to include a picture of big brother Liam but he is taking his time to warm up to her. He hasn't been mean and told Josh that, "Baby sister so tute (cute)!" when they were driving in the car but is nervous to hold her. This morning he walked up to her and asked to hold her so I let him, he smiled and said, "She so tute!" and then said, "ALL DONE!" and ran off. Hopefully we will be able to catch them together in a picture soon. We feel so fortunate for all our Father in Heaven has blessed us with. We love you Layla and thank you for bringing your sweet spirit into our lives. Liam, you are a wonderful big brother.

Girl Names?!?!?!

We still have not decided on a name. We both have names we love but nothing seems to fit perfectly. What names do you like? We are open to any ideas. Please let us know any suggestions. Maybe your name will win! I am pretty sure Liam wants to name her Baby Bryce. He has called his tummy, "Baby Bryce" while rubbing it and occasionally knocks on it and says, "Knock, knock, Baby Bryce". I am pretty sure he still thinks I have a pumpkin in my tummy. So cute!

Best of Friends

I had to post a picture of Liam and Bryce because they are the best of buds. Even though they have a little over a year between them Liam always talks about "Baby Bryce". He sings songs about Baby Bryce and any time a I bring up Auntie he asks, "Where's Bryce?". He calls Katheryn, "Baby Bryce Two" but holds a special place in his heart for the boy cousin. A few weeks ago they just sat there belly laughing at each other. The more the other laughed the harder the other one would laugh. It lasted a while. We feel so lucky to have several of his cousins so near. Now all we need is his buddy Kempton closer!
