Sick of being SICK
Super bugs are everywhere now a days. I swear they are stronger then when I was a kid. Could that be possible? Don't worry, we don't have the Swine Flu. I thought it was food poisoning but just a virus. It is nothing respitory. I know it could be much worse. Liam has been acting fine for the most part just has had awful diapers. Josh got it the worse. I just had it a few hours and sweet Layla has avoided it. Thank goodness. I am even more worried to take my kids out now with the swine flu. How scarey. It doesn't help that I had to throw away a large part of our food storage because of a single infested bag of never been opened brown organic rice. SICK! I pray for all of our family and friends that we will be protected from this awful virus going around and say a special prayer for all of our little ones. I need to go wash my hands... I guess this was a venting post.

5 months already?!?!?
How can you resist this big gummy grin?

Layla is working on Yoga and doing quite well. A few weeks ago in my yoga class we did this pose (very similar) and no joke it was called the baby pose. I think I might start taking her to class with me.

Our sweet Layla is 5 months now. I can't believe it. She seems so much smaller than her brother when he was that age (because she is I suppose). Here are some fun pictures. Layla is such a doll and gets tons of attention everywhere we go. She is rolling now and can almost sit up all on her own. Her and Liam are buddies. They play together. Actually we act like Layla can talk and give her a high pitched voice. Liam loves it and talks to her like it is really coming from her. I think he might think for some strange reason it is really her talking. Here is a picture of Liam at this age. Besides the 5 pound weight difference I am starting to think/admit they do look a lot alike.

Funny little Liam
Here are some funny things Liam has been saying:
I was teaching Liam his last name. He said, "If I'm Liam Perriton, are you Mommy Marcie and Daddy, Daddy Josh?"
"Don't poop on me!" I have no idea where this came from.
"Hold me, hold me, hold me. I'm scared........ I think it's just a little monster"
In a sweet voice, "Please Mommy, may I tackle you?"
Every morning while Josh is getting ready Liam will follow him around saying, "You not going to "wurt" Daddy, you stay home and play with me!"
"You crack me up mommy"
"I miss you Jumping Jacks" (a inflatable play place)
This one was my favorite. We talk a lot about Jesus but haven't ever discussed Heavenly Father other than the times we say a prayer. Here is what Liam said on our way to church the other day. I said, "Liam, you get to go to nursery today. It will be fun!" Liam said, "I don't want to go to nursery Mommy. I just want to see Heavenly Father." I said, "What does Heavenly Father look like?" Liam said, "He looks like Jesus, Mommy."

General Conference Tag
One of my favorite temples, The Draper Temple

I was tagged by my sister, here is how it goes:
Rules:
1.Post on your blog Either a summary of what you got out of conference, a favorite talk or a summary of your favorite talk from conference.
2.Share your testimony at the end of your post.
3.Leave a comment on my blog so I can read what you wrote
The feeling I had overall throughout conference was that it is possible and very important to attend the temple. I know it is hard nursing and having Josh's busy work schedule but I kept getting the feeling and desire throughout conference that I needed to make more of an effort. I know the blessings that come from visiting the temple and what a wonderful place it is. Once you are there it is always so refreshing. It is just a matter of getting there. I loved Elder David Bednards talk. We were driving and the radio was going in out but it really hit me. If you would like to read it visit:
http://lds.org/conference/talk/display/0,5232,23-1-1032-30,00.html
It really stood out to me when he was comparing our home to the temple. I know in this world our children need a safe place and that safe place needs to be our home. I know there are things we can do to better invite the spirit in our home.
I am so grateful for the blessings of the temple and that we as worthy members of this church have a place so calming, beautiful, service oriented and in many cases conveniently located to attend. I know that families are forever and that covenants made in the temple will bless us in this life and throughout the eternities. It's not just a hope that these things will happen. I know it is real and true. I have faith that by my children observing me in my temple attendence and appreciation they will see the importance and strive to be temple worthy as well. How blessed we are to live in this dispensation.
If anyone has any questions you can ask me or go to LDS.org and read some talks from conference yourself.
This tag is for anyone who wants to participate.

Atonement
My Step Dad gave a wonderful talk on easter sunday. Here is part of his talk. Hope you enjoy
"When we let the atonement work in our lives Christ, our Master can do wonderful things with us. I would like to finish with a poem that was also in Boyd K Packard’s talk:
'Twas battered and scarred, and the auctioneer
Thought it scarcely worth his while
To waste much time on the old violin,
But held it up with a smile: "What am I bidden, good folks," he cried,
"Who'll start the bidding for me?"
"A dollar, a dollar"; then, "Two!" "Only two?
Two dollars, and who'll make it three?
Three dollars, once; three dollars, twice;
Going for three—" But no,
From the room, far back, a gray-haired man
Came forward and picked up the bow;
Then, wiping the dust from the old violin,
And tightening the loose strings,
He played a melody pure and sweet
As a caroling angel sings.
The music ceased, and the auctioneer,
With a voice that was quiet and low,
Said, "What am I bid for the old violin?"
And he held it up with the bow.
"A thousand dollars, and who'll make it two?
Two thousand! And who'll make it three?
Three thousand, once, three thousand, twice,
And going, and gone!" said he.
The people cheered, but some of them cried,
"We do not quite understand
What changed its worth." Swift came the reply:
"The touch of a master's hand."
And many a man with life out of tune,
And battered and scarred with sin,
Is auctioned cheap to the thoughtless crowd,
Much like the old violin.
A "mess of pottage," a glass of wine,
A game—and he travels on.
He's "going" once, and "going" twice,
He's "going" and almost "gone."
But the Master comes, and the foolish crowd
Never can quite understand
The worth of a soul and the change that's wrought
By the touch of the Master's hand."

Egg Olympics
Layla's Easter dress didn't make it to church due to a huge blow out on the way there... It happens.

Liam's Sunday best (sorry for the dirty look nap time was interupted)

My favorite Easter Eggs. Josh's is to the left and mine is in the middle

As usual Montrose was beautiful and we had a blast playing, "Egg Games 2009". My Mom put together some fun "egg" games for the adults. Not only was our athletic ability put to the test but also our creative side. We made hats and eggs for points and played some fun egg games. Team Perriton took second. We loved it. We also celebrated Josh's birthday when we arrived which was nice considering it hadn't started off as the best birthday. To start off, I backed into Josh's truck damaging both our vehicles. He was very sweet about it. Next, he had a very bad week at work, and to top it off we got pulled over, not once but twice, on our drive down here. Luckily, my Mom made Josh's favorite cake and everyone waited up for us. So it ended well.
Liam was very excited last night when he was laying in bed and THE EASTER BUNNY jumped past the window. He sat up laughing and said, "I NEED TO GO OUTSIDE!" sadly, the bunny had hopped away but did make one more visit. It was so cute.
Linz and Tim brought x-box so we played alot of Madden and Rock Band. It was so fun to see everyone.
The best part of the week were the talks (Paul) and lessons given at church this Easter Sunday. I am so grateful for the Atonement and the sense of peace it has brought me and will continue to bring me throughout my life. I know our Savior lives and loves each and every one of us. Only through following Christ can we return to our Father in Heaven. I am grateful for my testimony. It is the thing I hold dearest to me. It is what makes me who I am. I know the Resurrection is real and just like the earth comes to life again in the spring, we too will be resurrected. The gospel is so pure and is designed to make us happy. It will do just that if we follow the teachings. Nothing can keep us from experiencing the joy it brings!

Fun News...
As many of you know we were able to rent our townhome. To our surprise we had tons of people interested and several applications filled out. We went with a lady who loved the home and we think she will take good care of it. We are moving just a few minutes away (into a different Stake, yes this is Utah). We are pumped to have a yard, our only requirement. As excited as we are to move we will miss our neighbors and ward very much. We have met some of the most amazing, sincere, and kind people in this area. Not to mention the ward has been the best ward we have ever been in. Hopefully because we are still so close we will be able to see everyone often. Not to mention there is a slight chance we will be able to fix this house up a bit and flip it (you never know with the economy these days). In that case we may end up back here. Our new ward and neighbors sure do have a lot to live up to...My other fun news, is that may wonderful neighbor and friend does glitter toes and I was able to get them done. LOVE IT!
Elmo Books and The Chicken Dollar
We have been working very hard for a long time (Liam's whole life) to get him to fall asleep on his own. We have tried letting him cry it out, time out, EVERYTHING until last week I figured it out. Something no parenting book, Doctor or friend has ever suggested. The secret...to "ROAR" yes, literally "ROAR". Liam had gotten out of his bed one night (for what felt like the tenth time) and was holding his Lion. He opened the door and I roared because that is what we do when we see a tiger, lion, or dinosaur toy around here (Liam's idea). Well, Liam took it personally and ran into his bed begging me not to roar at him. It has been over a week and he has fallen asleep all on his own and even taken naps?!?!? I have only had to roar around 4 or 5 times and he runs back in there. I let him read books or play with toys on his bed until he falls asleep. Here is how I found him today reading his very intense (aparently) Elmo book. So cute!
As for the Chicken Dollar. This is the BEST toy for babies. Liam loved it more anything and would sit and play with the chicken dollar forever. It was a hit with the twins and now Layla will sit and play with it non-stop. It doesn't play music or even have different textures. It does make a crackle noise when they play with it however. Who knows...

I LOVE St. George

We decided this weekend last minute to head to St. George and meet up with my Dad and step family to watch conference. It was so BEAUTIFUL! The best part was the georgeous red rock and the snow caped mountains in the back ground. The St. George Temple is one of my favorites as well. The community is so well put together. We also had the chance to meet up with cousins Nate and Jen and family. It was so fun to see them and visit. I know I haven't been to St. George in the late summer months but I honestly could totally see us living there one day. I loved it that much. I think I would just stare out the window in awe of what beauty surrounds St. George. We will for sure be going back there to visit! I can't believe such a different climate is under 4 hours away. I really have grown to LOVE Utah!!! We got home and Liam started crying and screaming, "I want to go to St. George again!". Liam, I totally understand!!!
Funny Side note, I hurt my neck somehow and I asked Liam to please hold still while I buckled him in his car seat he said, "Don't be sad Mommy, Jesus will make you ALLLLL better!"
