Another Day in Paradise

Liam and I woke up on the wrong side of the bed/crib this morning and were having some difficulty getting the day rolling. Finally, after attempting to feed Liam his breakfast I smelt something. Nothing you would ever want to wake up to. It was everywhere. We ran up stairs for an emergency diaper change and bath. I hadn't had time the time to throw away the diaper because when I took Liam to the bath he was covered. When we returned to the room I noticed the dog had stepped in the mess, it was everywhere. I laughed in disbelief. So we threw the dog in the garage, then cleaned up the mess and got Liam dressed. I then realize we hadn't even been awake an hour, I couldn't help but what wonder what was coming next.
Finally, we got around to reading books and playing with toys. Liam was standing by the couch and I held up one of his favorite stories and asked him if he wanted to read it. He then took his first three wobbly steps to Mommy. He was very proud and so was I. He repeated it a few more times and then he caught on it was just as fun to fall straight forward because he knew I would be there to catch him.
I look forward to the day when we need not to worry about the blow outs. At the same time however I know the day will come where he wont need to depend on me to catch him. He will want and need to do it on his own. It will be fun to watch him become independent but at the same time it makes me realize how much I should savor the moments we have today even though they may come with an emergency diaper change. Because with diaper changing comes the first smile, the first word, the first tooth and of course the first step.

Things you didn't know you wanted to know...

Summer tagged me to write six facts about myself and I have to tag 6 people. My six are Mom, April, Babe, Janette, Brooke, and Ali. There is one problem... The last four don't have a blog. They said they would like to get one however. So when the time comes, tag your it! You better do it.
1. I would do anything to be a real cowgirl!
2. I sing my heart out to Liam. I fear the day he realizes I am trying to sing.
3. Nothing sounds more relaxing to me than to find a quiet spot in nature, on a warm sunny day, lay out a blanket, laugh with Josh and watch Liam play.
4. I am deathly afraid of race cars, motorcyles, speed boats, pretty much anything that goes fast or jumps that has a motor and makes a lot of noise. My heart beats fast and I start to picture awful stuff.
5. My favorite date with my hubby was when we went country swing dancing. He swept me off my feet. HE WAS GREAT AT IT! I beg him to do it with me at home. It is so much fun!
6. I wish I could have cereal for every meal and snack. I would never grow tired, I just know it!

Fall Fun

Liam seems to be changing just as quicly as the leaves outside. He now has 6 teeth (the front two spaced a good distance apart), can stand all on his own, points at everything and enjoys yelling, "Daidie" (our dog). We took Liam to the Pumpkin patch mainly for pictures. We thought he wouldn't think much of it. We were way off! He loved it and wanted to touch every pumpkin. If we took a pumpkin away he STRONGLY rejected. He held a pumpkin on his lap the whole way home with Grandma Holly's help. We finally were able to replace the pumpkin with a grahm cracker. He is so strong and was able to lift the pumpkin all by himself. What a big boy!
Josh still loves his job and through his work won a trip to a Broncos Monday night football game. What a dream for him and a dream for Marcie because the company is paying for everything. Josh did well at work this past quarter and earned top consultant. His hard work has really paid off.
Marcie has enjoyed her morning walks with Liam and reading him his favorite books. It is the only way she can get him to hold still and snuggle. Marcie's sister Tara is having a little girl this Jan and April is pregnant with twins. The Perriton home is full of blessings and we couldn't be happier.
