Easter Sunday

How blessed we are to have the knowledge we do of the Resurrection. I know it is real. Christ lives and what comfort that brings. We focused all week on the events that took place the week prior to the Resurrection. Layla would just sit and listen as we spoke. She was so in tune. Liam soaked it all in like a sponge. We had him tell us the other night what all the pictures we have (thanks mom) meant. He knew everything. It helped that he gave a talk in church last Sunday on it. Children are so pure, so willing to learn, these things just seem to click with them. It is amazing and a testimony builder for me. I am often reminded how I need to be more meek and humble, more like a child. I hope this Easter was meaningful for them. I know they learned a lot and had a lot of fun. We tried to make it special.

The Big Hunt

I use to love change, loved moving, and loved meeting new people. That all has changed since we moved here. I want to stay here for ever and ever. It is quiet, it is beautiful, it is safe, and it is filled with activities like this, big Easter egg hunt put on by a wonderful couple who live in the community:

Josh and I always talk about how living here you step back 50 years. Its traditional, people are friendly, people are kind, kids out riding their bikes, families going for walks, horses and baby sheep, beautiful mountains, big yards everyone has their garden and fruit trees. How blessed we are to live in such a beautiful place. The lifestyle is beautiful, the scenery is perfect, and the values are ideal. I never knew such a place existed.

Work it, Work it

Layla got a hair cut and was more then willing to have pictures taken of her when we got home. This girl is not camera shy and knows how to strike a pose. Layla's latest has been screaming the song Jingle Bells during the sacrament. Not sure why she does it then, or why she insists on that song. You would not believe how many people come up and tell me what a good singer I have. She is darling. You just want to hug and kiss her all the time. The other day she was playing in her room. She went to play with her books but first cleaned up all her toys and put them in her toy chest. Gotta love it as a Mom. We love you Layla. Thanks for knowing how to be so dang cute.

2 Wheeler

Liam's on a 2 wheeler and boy is he good. Later that day he was jumping the curb and doing tricks. This is not an exaggeration. Good job Liam. We are so proud of you.

Gotta Love This GUY!

Liam was so good at keeping a secret and not telling his Dad about the ninjas he was convinced Josh wanted from the dollar store for his birthday. Liam had this famous line, "Dad, I got you a present and it's NOT ninjas!" followed by him covering his mouth laughing and saying, "I'm really tricking you!".
For our Party Game we had a BALLOON FIGHT!

Josh had his big day. I am more in love with him now then ever. Thank you for all you do and have you done for our family. I have high hopes your humility, work ethic, desire to always do better, willingness to serve will rub off on me and the kiddo's. You are AMAZING. We went out to eat, got specialized cupcakes (rip off), had a birthday party and I made his favorite dinner, California Pizza Kitchens Kung Pow Spaghettei. It was a weekend full of fun. Love you.
Happy Birthday Dad!

Snip Snip

Looks like my tonsils are getting the boot on Wednesday... along with my sinuses which are getting straightened and widened. The hardest part will be that I cant lift more then 20 pounds or bend over for two weeks. All you Mom's of young children are laughing right now. But, one of my favorite people, Mom in Cheyenne, is coming to the rescue. I don't know what I would do with out her. She is amazing.
At first I was really excited, hoping this would bring an end to some of my health problems I have had the past year. Don't get me wrong, I am so grateful we are able to do this. But now I am getting nervous as I keep hearing horror stories about adults and tonsil removal... The sinus part will be a cake walk. The exact words of my ENT Dr. were as follows, "If you have heard horror stories about adults getting their tonsils out, I am telling you they are true. On days 4-7 you will hate me and your body. You have to think long term." I am trying Dr. I am trying. It will be worth it to help bring to end the past year. So bring it!   :)

Funny But Mean...

This is what happens when you ask Liam to smile for the camera... Such a boy :)
This next post will be something you don't really want to laugh at but you will. I was walking in Costco as I saw my four year olds eyes lock in on a midget couple. I knew it was just a matter of seconds before he would need to share what he saw. I turned the corner and started walking quickly, almost running. Liam starts yelling: "Mom turn the cart around I have to show you something funny, Mom turn around?!?! Mom you need to turn around it will make you laugh,"
Me: "Liam I'm not going to turn the cart around."
Liam, "Mom you will laugh I promise. I saw people that look like you but they are little like me!" Keep in mind he is chuckling the whole time all of this is going on.

Gotta Love When Family Comes

We had a blast at Temple Square
Sondra and Joey came for their spring break. As usual, I laughed most of the time they were here. That girl is funny! Joey was such an angel. Liam found his perfect match. Joey loves Lego's, pirate, ninjas, swords, anything boy. Layla was in love with her Auntie. Sondra has a gift with children. She is amazing. Love you guys and thanks for coming all this way. Our best would be the kids playing and cracking jokes... Our worse would be the food at Pirate Island. Ask Sondra about her $20 piece of rotten lettuce. Liam had to run to the bathroom as soon as we finished making him eat the food. As he sat on the potty he said in his low and distinct voice, "Mom I think the games at Pirate Island are a good thing but the food is a very bad thing!".... You have to love what a 4 year old has to say :)

Sorry 31 Days...

Well I was suppose to do a post a day. I loved the idea considering this was a journal. But life happened. I still want to do it just when I have them time. I will do 31 days just not in a row :)

Shhhh... Don't Tell

Josh was just walking out the door for work. Liam came up said, "I have to tell you something Mom, but its a secret. You can't tell Dad!" He then whispered in my ear, "I flicked a bugar on Daddy's shirt and it stuck there. Don't tell him!". Josh heard me laughing so hard he came back and wanted to know what I was laughing at with Liam. I could barely tell him. Don't worry, he didn't go to his new job with any extra accessories.

Sunny, Warm, Beautiful, Delicious St. George

I think it is obvious... In our free time we go to St. George. Dad, thanks for the magical weekend. I will never meet someone as giving and thoughtful as my Dad.  He wants nothing more then to make the people around him happy. We are so glad you came along. These are memories we will cherish forever. For instance:

Liam loves to spin. I seriously can't stop laughing when I see a dizzy kid get off these things. It is sooo funny. He started walking backwards even though he was wanting to go forward.

This is what Layla does EVERY time I take a picture. It just might be the cutest thing ever.

They love to hug and see who falls first. Sooo darn cute!

I LOVE this bike. It is just what I need. Color and all. So cute!

Pickle Ball, what a fun game! I can't wait to play again.

Liam and his pose. Liam woke up and said this is the best place on earth. I thought he learned about earth from primary but he corrected me and said it was from, "Despicable Me"...

Layla and her Daddy. They might be the same person just different age and gender. This picture made me realize how big my baby is getting. I can't believe it!

Creepy Family picture

We will NEVER have a good family picture :)

Car ride home. Lets act like this is how they always act when they have been in the car for hours. The last 20 minutes of our drive Liam yelled, "This is long like going to Grandma Holly's I am NEVER going there again!".  Overall they do really well.

Why I BLOG

I love to blog. It is our family journal. It helps me remember and try to make good memories. I can express myself and love for both my family and testimony. It is a wonderful thing and I hope my children in enjoy reading it.
