Another Day in Paradise

Liam and I woke up on the wrong side of the bed/crib this morning and were having some difficulty getting the day rolling. Finally, after attempting to feed Liam his breakfast I smelt something. Nothing you would ever want to wake up to. It was everywhere. We ran up stairs for an emergency diaper change and bath. I hadn't had time the time to throw away the diaper because when I took Liam to the bath he was covered. When we returned to the room I noticed the dog had stepped in the mess, it was everywhere. I laughed in disbelief. So we threw the dog in the garage, then cleaned up the mess and got Liam dressed. I then realize we hadn't even been awake an hour, I couldn't help but what wonder what was coming next.
Finally, we got around to reading books and playing with toys. Liam was standing by the couch and I held up one of his favorite stories and asked him if he wanted to read it. He then took his first three wobbly steps to Mommy. He was very proud and so was I. He repeated it a few more times and then he caught on it was just as fun to fall straight forward because he knew I would be there to catch him.
I look forward to the day when we need not to worry about the blow outs. At the same time however I know the day will come where he wont need to depend on me to catch him. He will want and need to do it on his own. It will be fun to watch him become independent but at the same time it makes me realize how much I should savor the moments we have today even though they may come with an emergency diaper change. Because with diaper changing comes the first smile, the first word, the first tooth and of course the first step.

I can't believe he's walking already! He is so determined, I'm just curious to see what he'll accomplish as he gets older. Miss you Liam!

Yeah for Liam!!! Way to go kiddo! He really is determined: when he was trying to get up my step and Katherine was helping him back down, he just kept going, thinking "does she really think she can stop me?" I love his personallity!

How great! Just watch out for those nasty forehead bruises. 'Ekena would always get a new one just as an old one was clearing up. I'm sure people thought that I hit her.

Marcie,
That was so sweet to read your last post! I love the new pictures of Liam and the pumpkin patch. My favorite is when he is in the truck and he has the funniest face!
love you,
April

You guys are so cute. You are doing a great job with the blog, it's my favorite way to keep up(besides seeing you in person of course). Don't worry about the spelling thing, I'm always asking Ryan how to spell stuff. Can't wait to see you.

Love Jess
